THE COMPANY

Our client is a well-established Denver-area home and commercial services company specializing in surface refinishing and restoration. Instead of tearing out and replacing existing surfaces, the company helps homeowners and commercial property owners update bathtubs, tile, countertops, floors, cabinets, and other surfaces through professional coating and refinishing solutions.

The company has been serving the Denver market for decades and is known for offering customers a faster, more cost-effective, and less disruptive alternative to traditional remodeling. This is a small-business environment with a loyal team, long-tenured employees, and a strong opportunity for the right salesperson to make an immediate impact.

THE JOB

Our client is hiring a Commercial Sales Manager to help grow commercial revenue while also supporting residential estimate appointments. This is a hands-on outside sales role for someone who enjoys getting into the market, meeting customers face-to-face, building relationships, and turning practical service needs into repeat business.

The current weekly structure includes approximately three days focused on commercial business development and two days focused on residential in-home estimates. Over time, the goal is for this person to build the commercial side strongly enough that the role can become even more commercially focused.

In this role, you will sell to a mix of homeowners and commercial customers, including property managers, contractors, architects, hotels, senior living facilities, schools, hospitals, apartment communities, and facility managers. The right person will be comfortable running estimate appointments, prospecting new accounts, reactivating past relationships, following up consistently, and building a book of business.

This is not an order-taking role. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, field-oriented, accountable, and excited by the opportunity to help rebuild and grow a commercial sales function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Run residential in-home estimate appointments approximately two days per week
  • Prospect and develop commercial accounts across the Denver Metro area
  • Build relationships with property managers, contractors, architects, hotels, senior living facilities, schools, hospitals, apartments, and facility managers
  • Reactivate past customers and existing local market relationships
  • Conduct site visits and understand customer project needs
  • Present refinishing solutions as a faster, lower-disruption alternative to replacement or remodeling
  • Prepare and follow up on proposals
  • Develop recurring commercial account opportunities
  • Maintain consistent sales activity, follow-up, and pipeline discipline
  • Coordinate with the general manager and operations team after the sale
  • Represent the company professionally in homes, commercial facilities, and construction-adjacent environments
  • Help shape and grow the company’s long-term commercial sales function

THE QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Proven outside sales, territory sales, business development, or field sales experience
  • Experience prospecting and developing new business, not just managing inbound leads
  • Comfort meeting customers in person and selling face-to-face
  • Experience in construction, home improvement, restoration, coatings, flooring, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, remodeling, property services, facilities services, or another blue-collar/commercial service industry
  • Ability to build relationships with practical, hands-on buyers such as contractors, property managers, facility managers, technicians, and homeowners
  • Strong follow-up habits and closing ability
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
  • Comfort being measured against sales activity, pipeline, close rate, and revenue goals
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence
  • Ability to manage both shorter residential sales cycles and longer commercial relationship-based opportunities
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort driving locally throughout the Denver Metro area

Strong pluses include:

  • Experience selling to property managers, general contractors, architects, hotels, senior living facilities, schools, hospitals, apartments, or facility managers
  • Experience selling estimate-based or proposal-based services
  • Experience building recurring commercial accounts
  • Experience in a small-business or entrepreneurial environment
  • Leadership presence or future player-coach potential

This may not be the right fit for someone who only wants pre-set appointments, prefers inside sales, has only sold software or financial products, or does not want to prospect in the field.
