THE JOB

Our client is hiring a Sales Manager to lead a team of outside sales representatives within the Detroit market supporting the HR Services division.

This is a true frontline field-sales leadership role. The District Sales Manager will be responsible for driving new-business revenue performance through direct rep coaching, ride-alongs, field accountability, pipeline inspection, prospecting management, recruiting, and sales-team development.

The environment is highly active and metrics-driven. Leaders are expected to spend meaningful time in the field with sales reps, reinforce execution discipline, inspect activity levels, improve pipeline quality, and help sales professionals win new business consistently.

This is not an account-management leadership role. The ideal candidate understands how to lead hunters in a fast-paced outside-sales environment and can create accountability without losing team buy-in.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing outside sales representatives
  • Conducting field coaching and ride-alongs
  • Driving prospecting activity and pipeline discipline
  • Recruiting and developing sales talent
  • Managing district performance against revenue expectations
  • Building referral and channel relationships
  • Partnering with local branch leadership
  • Reinforcing accountability and execution consistency
  • Coaching sellers through live customer situations
  • Operating visibly within the local market

The role is hybrid and market-based. Candidates must live in or near the Detroit market and be comfortable spending significant time in the field with the sales team.


THE QUALIFICATIONS

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Experience leading outside sales professionals in a field-based environment
  • Experience operating within a new-business-focused sales culture
  • Strong coaching and rep-development capability
  • Experience managing prospecting accountability and pipeline discipline
  • Ability to inspect activity metrics and sales execution
  • Experience operating within highly accountable sales organizations
  • Strong leadership presence and credibility with field sales teams
  • Ability to work directly with reps through field coaching and ride-alongs
  • Live-in-market capability for the Detroit area


THE BENEFITS

General compensation guidance discussed during intake:

  • Base salary may range approximately from $120K–$130K
  • Bonus opportunities may range approximately from $45K–$75K depending on district quota
  • RSUs may be included and were discussed around approximately $15K for DSM-level roles
