Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Assurance Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Description:

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance (QA) programs to ensure compliance with NQA-1 requirements and applicable regulatory, client, and company standards. This role provides quality support across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities, helping ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented throughout the project lifecycle. The QA Engineer performs audits and assessments, monitors procedural compliance, supports corrective actions, and collaborates with project teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

 

Duties:

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the project Quality Assurance Program in accordance with NQA-1 requirements.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of quality procedures, processes, and program documentation to support regulatory and contractual compliance.
  • Provide quality oversight and support for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities on nuclear projects.
  • Review engineering design activities and documentation for compliance with approved quality requirements, codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Support procurement quality activities, including vendor qualification, procurement document reviews, supplier evaluations, and performance monitoring.
  • Verify quality requirements are incorporated into procurement activities, including inspections, documentation, and receipt verification.
  • Perform internal audits and assessments of engineering, procurement, construction, and quality processes to verify compliance with NQA-1 and project procedures.
  • Document audit and assessment results and support corrective action tracking, follow-up, and verification of issue resolution.
  • Monitor implementation of quality procedures and identify potential issues and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and client representatives to address and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Review quality-related documentation, including procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality records.
  • Support readiness reviews, assessments, and external audits conducted by customers and regulatory organizations.
  • Participate in quality training and continuous improvement activities to promote a strong project quality culture.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting or implementing Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or implementing quality procedures and project documentation.
  • Experience participating in or conducting internal quality audits and supporting corrective action programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
