Project Manager + Own the Job + Omaha 

 

If you're a project manager who prefers being out on job sites rather than sitting behind a desk, this role could be a great fit. This position combines hands-on construction experience with full project ownership. 

You’ll manage a range of facility and construction projects across commercial locations, collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful outcomes. This is a visible, high‑impact role for someone who takes pride in running a well‑organized job site and building strong working relationships. 

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For 

  • Leading projects from kickoff through close‑out, including scope, scheduling, and execution 
  • Coordinating subcontractors and vendors to maintain progress and momentum 
  • Managing budgets, monitoring costs, and finding opportunities to improve financial performance 
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and resolving issues 
  • Ensuring work meets quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes 
  • Conducting regular site visits and inspections to verify workmanship and progress 
  • Managing permits, documentation, change orders, and project records 
  • Identifying risks early and responding proactively 
  • Continuously looking for ways to improve processes and project outcomes 

 

What They’re Looking For 

  • Hands-on experience across multiple trades 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with comfort directing crews and interacting with clients 
  • A self‑starter who can make decisions independently while working in the field 
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills 
  • Comfort using mobile apps, work order systems, and documenting work digitally 
  • A safety‑first mindset with knowledge of jobsite safety standards 

 

Nice-to-Have 

  • Formal project management or construction-related certifications 
  • OSHA safety certifications 
  • Experience managing subcontractors across varied job sites
