The Head of Wholesale will lead and oversee all wholesale operations, ensuring exceptional service for retail partners while driving strategic growth of the wholesale channel. This role combines day-to-day operational leadership with big-picture planning to identify opportunities, improve processes, and strengthen relationships with wholesale accounts. The Head of Wholesale will manage the wholesale team and serve as the central point of leadership across sales, customer service, and accounts receivable, ensuring smooth operations, strong communication with retailers, and consistent revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the long-term wholesale growth strategy
- Identify opportunities to expand into new accounts, markets, and distribution channels
- Analyze sales trends, customer feedback, and market data to guide business decisions
- Partner with leadership on forecasting, planning, and seasonal sales strategy
- Provide insights to design and merchandising teams regarding product performance and retailer demand
- Evaluate account profitability and recommend changes to improve performance Sales Leadership
- Oversee all wholesale sales activity and performance
- Manage key wholesale accounts and relationships
- Support the team in account growth, reorders, and seasonal sell-in
- Monitor sales targets and performance against projections
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners
- Lead sales planning around market weeks, trade shows, and seasonal launches
- Lead and oversee the wholesale customer service function
- Ensure retailers receive timely, professional support
- Act as the escalation point for complex account issues
- Identify patterns in retailer questions, complaints, or operational challenges
- Implement improvements to systems, communication, and processes to enhance retailer experience
Accounts Receivable & Payment Management:
- Oversee wholesale accounts receivable and payment tracking
- Establish and maintain payment calendars and credit policies
- Monitor outstanding balances and ensure timely collections
- Partner with finance to manage credit approvals, payment plans, and risk
- Maintain clear communication with accounts regarding payment expectations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wholesale department
- Ensure smooth coordination between sales, operations, logistics, and finance
- Improve internal workflows related to orders, fulfillment, and communication
- Establish systems for tracking orders, retailer communication, and account performance
Team Leadership:
- Manage and support the wholesale team, including sales and customer service staff
- Provide training, structure, and clear expectations
- Build a high-performance team focused on service, growth, and accountability
- Ensure team members have the tools and systems needed to succeed
- Monitor overall health of the wholesale channel
- Identify recurring issues affecting multiple retailers and proactively address them
- Provide leadership with regular reporting on wholesale performance, risks, and opportunities
- Continuously improve the wholesale program to support long-term brand growth
Qualifications:
- Strong background in wholesale sales and account management
- Experience managing customer service and operational teams
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities

- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience managing accounts receivable or payment processes is a plus
