Meet Youth For Christ

Youth For Christ, located outside of Denver in Parker, Colorado, has been a pillar of missional ministry since 1944 when Rev. Billy Graham served as YFC’s first full-time staff member. Since then, Youth For Christ has continued to be both a rural and urban ministry on mission, and always about the message of Jesus. 

Throughout YFC’s history, there has been an unwavering commitment to youth evangelism and biblical Christianity.

One of YFC’s slogans over the past fifty years has been “Anchored to the Rock, Geared to the Times.” YFC strives to both demonstrate and communicate this message of hope, grace, and love in a variety of different cultural settings, and always pursuing teens in personal relationships. 

Every day at thousands of community centers, high schools, middle schools, juvenile institutions, coffee shops, and local hangouts, YFC staff and volunteers meet with young people who need Jesus. Their focus as a movement is on multiplying fruitful and sustainable ministry sites across the nation and around the world.

About the VP of Expansion

The Vice President of Expansion will steward and accelerate Youth for Christ USA’s national and global impact by strengthening chapters, cultivating healthy partnerships, and scaling sustainable ministry models. This leader operates at the intersection of strategy, relationships, and systems, serving as a connector between local chapters, the national office, and the international YFC family, while keeping the mission of reaching young people with the Gospel at the center.

Working closely with the Office of the President and fellow Division Vice Presidents, the VP of Expansion leads and oversees the Mission Expansion Division, including Chapter Advancement, Leadership Pipeline & Training, Church Partner Sites, and Online Platforms. This leader drives innovation through Christ-centered design thinking, builds and equips high-performing teams, and establishes strong foundations for sustained growth, kingdom partnerships, and measurable mission impact—all in service of the 10-year strategic vision to see Gen Alpha known as a generation devoted to Christ.

This role requires a relational, high-EQ executive who leads primarily through influence, trust, and pastoral care, not authority. The VP of Expansion must be someone who can host, convene, shepherd, and make difficult decisions with clarity and grace. 

As a senior leader, the VP of Expansion must model and cultivate YFC’s Cultural Attributes: Christ-centered living, Enduring Humility, Relentless Trust, Courageous Faithfulness, Joyful Camaraderie, and Kingdom-Inspired Diversity.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management of the Expansion Division (25%)

The VP of Expansion will champion a data-informed culture that supports faith-driven decision-making. While not a data analyst, this leader must be able to, interpret analytics and benchmarks (e.g., Salesforce data), shepherd teams and chapters based on insight, not instinct alone, fund growth where momentum is present, lead critical conversations in love that produce measurable results. In addition they will be able to:

National Strategy & Vision Stewardship (25%)

  • Ensure strategic initiatives are aligned and advancing toward YFC’s long-term vision for Gen Alpha.
  • Champion and implement YFC’s interdependent national vision and strategy.
  • Mobilize people, systems, and resources across the National Service Center and the broader YFC movement.
  • Identifying warning signs through data and intervening early with care and clarity.
  • Lead and develop a team of department heads responsible for executing the mission and strategy of the Expansion Division.
  • Foster a collaborative, trust-filled culture marked by clarity, accountability, feedback, and leadership development.
  • Ensure the division consistently produces outcomes aligned with YFC’s preeminent goals.

Organizational & Mission Leadership (15%)

  • Serve as a key organizational leader contributing to cross-division collaboration and continual improvement.
  • Partner with executive field leadership to set and steward a course for exponential chapter growth.
  • Guiding expansion strategy without over-centralizing control.
  • Supporting innovation initiatives (e.g., Innovation Lab, online resources, leadership development).
  • Evaluating whether current structures are truly serving mission effectiveness.
  • Partnering with internal leaders (e.g., project management, leader formation, expansion initiatives) to move large ideas from vision to execution
  • Coordinate closely with the Office of the President and division leaders to advance movement-wide priorities.

Field Engagement & Expansion Leadership (35%)

  • Develop and sustain effective church-site and network-site models that engage local churches in relational evangelism.
  • Maintain strong engagement with chapter leaders and church partners nationwide.
  • Build and steward a national executive leadership pipeline, from identification and recruitment to training and succession planning.
  • Launch and lead the startup of a national online platform serving YFC chapters, church sites, and kingdom partners.
  • Lead organizational problem-solving with a holistic, solution-oriented approach aligned with YFC policies and interdependent resources.
  • Building relationships with peer organizations locally and globally.
  • Demonstrated success leading in federated or network-based organizations where influence, trust, and shared frameworks drive alignment rather than top-down control.
  • Able to guide growth across multiple local expressions while preserving ownership, culture, and contextual ministry.

Stewardship Responsibilities

  • Serve as Primary Steward for assigned volunteers, donors, vendors, chapters, or key processes and best practices.
  • Serve as Secondary Steward when assigned to support chapters or initiatives in areas such as compliance, strategy, fundraising, leadership development, or new ministry site development.

Spiritual Leadership Responsibilities

As an associate minister of the Gospel, the VP of Expansion is expected to:

  • Seek God’s guidance through prayer and spiritual disciplines.
  • Lead and participate in prayer, devotion, and worship within YFC contexts.
  • Teach and preach from Scripture at YFC meetings, conferences, camps, and events.
  • Model empathy, humility, care, and Christ-centered inclusion in both word and practice.

Employees may be commissioned, licensed, or ordained through YFC or a recognized external body.

Fundraising & Financial Stewardship

  • Actively participate in fundraising and donor engagement activities.
  • Mobilize personal and organizational networks to support YFC’s mission.
  • Serve as Budget Manager for the Expansion Division, aligning financial resources with strategic priorities and stewarding budgets responsibly.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including leading senior leaders and complex teams.
