Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Tier 3) to join their IT team and take ownership of infrastructure projects, automations, and system integrations across a multi-site environment. This role combines hands-on technical depth with project leadership. The ideal candidate can independently drive IT initiatives, resolve complex issues quickly, and maintain strong documentation and communication without daily oversight. They will work closely with IT leadership and cross-department partners to implement scalable, cloud-first solutions and improve operational efficiency companywide, and bring a proactive, analytical approach to problem solving and identifying root causes, simplifying complex issues, and driving long term solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues across SaaS, network, and cloud platforms.
• Provide direct and efficient technical support for NY office users.
• Resolve tickets efficiently when needed.
• Lead and execute IT infrastructure and systems projects, ensuring steady progress, documentation, and alignment with organizational priorities.
• Manage and optimize Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and related SaaS integrations with SSO and security controls.
• Evaluate, implement, and support tools for endpoint management, automation, and remote monitoring across multiple locations.
• Drive initiatives such as SaaS lifecycle management, user access governance, and system standardization.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and project tracking in collaboration with IT leadership.
• Collaborate with leaders across IT, Operations, HR, and Finance to align technology initiatives with organizational goals and promote best practices companywide.
• Mentor Tier 2 staff and promote consistent standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with a strong focus on cloud-first and SaaS environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and identity management with SSO integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, capable of quickly identifying and resolving complex issues.
• Proven success leading or managing IT projects independently across multiple locations.
• Familiarity with endpoint management, monitoring tools, and cloud-based network solutions.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Highly self-motivated and accountable, able to operate effectively with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier) and API integrations.
• Ability to translate operational challenges into scalable, technology-driven solutions

Preferred

• PowerShell scripting or automation experience.
• Experience with network design concepts (VPN, VLANs, firewalls).
• Familiarity with SaaS security, identity lifecycle, or zero-trust frameworks.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc)
