Are you an administrative professional with a passion for social justice?

 

We are currently in search of an Executive Assistant for a Social Justice Organization located in New York City (Midtown Manhattan). This is a Full-Time (40 hrs./wk.), Temporary (~3-4 months), Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote) assignment.

LOCATION: New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan)

POSITION TITLE: Executive Assistant

SCHEDULE: Full-Time Hybrid (40 hrs./wk.), Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote)

DURATION: Temporary (~3-4 months),

PAY RATE $26- $28/hr. DOE

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Executive Assistant will be providing high-level administrative support by conducting research, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, making travel arrangements, and scheduling meetings (may also train and supervise lower-level clerical staff).

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

 

  • 5+ years of experience as a high-level Executive Assistant, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Superior writing skills required
  • Strong administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook



 How You’ll Spend Your Day:

 

  • Organizing all appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
  • Making arrangements for the Executive Director's speaking engagements
  • Preparing, managing, and filing all executive correspondence
  • Managing customer service, including handling information requests, greeting visitors, and answering telephone calls
  • assisting in making all necessary arrangements for Board Meetings (coordinating biannual meetings, assembling relevant information for distribution to Board members, taking and editing Board minutes)
  • preparing and processing expense reports and financial data
  • Maintaining and managing a database of current and potential funders and contact persons
  • Training and supervising of other support staff (interns, clerical, and temporary staff)
