We are currently in search of an Administrative Assistant for a Social Services Nonprofit. This is a part-time, temporary role based in Chicago, IL.


ORGANIZATION: Social Service Nonprofit

LOCATION: Union Park near United Center (on-site)

POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant 

SCHEDULE: 20 hours/week (Mon, Tues, Thurs)

DURATION: Temporary (~3 months)

HOURLY RATE- $20.00


Is This Your Dream Job? The Administrative Assistant will support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organization. This role plays an important part in ensuring office operations run efficiently while supporting program staff and administrative departments with coordination, filing, record management, and general office support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, customer service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a collaborative nonprofit environment. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys creating organized systems, following established processes, and taking initiative to support a team-focused workplace. 


 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience working in an office environment required
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Professional customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or social services setting is a plus


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Provide general administrative support to operations and program teams
  • Organize, maintain, and file electronic and physical documents accurately
  • Assist with cross-departmental collaboration and administrative coordination
  • Support data entry, tracking, and reporting tasks using Microsoft Office programs
  • Maintain organized records and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Assist with customer service inquiries and provide professional support to clients, staff, and community partners
  • Follow established procedures, checklists, and operational workflows with accuracy
  • Help coordinate office tasks, scheduling, and general administrative projects
  • Support additional operational and clerical duties as needed
