We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our thriving construction company based in Montvale, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and bookkeeping, with a focus on the unique needs of a construction business. As the Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the construction projects and company operations.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Monitor and track project costs, expenses, and budgets.
• Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial data for project-related expenses.
• Process payroll and maintain employee records related to compensation and benefits.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for audits and tax purposes.
• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements related to construction financial management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and project cost tracking.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing financial scenarios.
