Administrative Assistant


Type of Position:

This position will begin as a 12-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 12 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.


Candidate Requirements:

This role is open only to US Citizens and Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders); candidates requiring visa sponsorship (e.g., H1B, F1-OPT, F1-CPT, TN, etc.) are not eligible. While a security clearance is not required, candidates may be subject to a background check and a drug screening, which could include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).


Job Location:

Aiken, SC (on site role, no remote work).

  

Compensation:

$26.04/hr to start. Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

  • Please note, this role does not include paid time off (PTO). Unpaid PTO is permitted with manager approval. If converted to a full-time employee, a competitive PTO package will be offered.


Overview:

HRU Technical Resources is partnering with a leading defense contractor to hire an Administrative Assistant for our facility in Aiken, SC. In this role, your administrative skills will directly support an organization involved in the production of cutting-edge armored combat and tactical vehicles. As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly: managing data, coordinating across teams, and supporting key leaders in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of complex administrative support duties for one or more supervisors, managers, individual contributors, or organizational units.
  • Serve as an information source on organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in planning of functions and administer organizational correspondence control.
  • Provide assistance to department members.
  • Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data and information from multiple sources.
  • Compile, review, and analyze data as needed.
  • Utilize software to generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Provide data and information to others regarding unit processes and procedures.


Skills, Education, Experience – Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required at a minimum along with 4+ years of relevant experience. Candidates who hold a Associate Degree (or higher level degree) may be considered with 2+ years of experience.
  • Use of a laptop to catalog tooling identification information into a database for fixtures used in manufacturing.
  • Ability to utilize new software systems to capture tooling information.
  • Access to relevant systems to input tooling numbers (fixtures) into the database.
  • Collaboration with timekeepers and local administration to inventory, list, and label contents of boxes for off-site storage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, email, and calendar software.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to resolve moderately complex issues.
  • Outstanding time management and multitasking skills.
  • Effective interaction with personnel at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to perform analysis, generate reports, and make recommendations.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and applicable procedures.
  • Respond efficiently to routine requests for information via phone, email, or in person.
  • Maintain files and records in established systems and retrieve them as requested or scheduled.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
  • Problem-solving skills using judgment based on practice and precedent with supervision.
  • Impact of work is primarily limited to the team or project.


Skills, Education, Experience – Preferred:

  • Past experience working inside a manufacturing is preferred.
  • Prior defense industry experience is preferred.


Work Environment:

  • This is a 1st (day) shift role. Typical hours are 6:00am to 3:30pm (Monday to Friday).
  • This will be a 100% on site role (no remote work).
  • There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
  • Offer may be contingent on a background check and a drug screening, which could include testing for cannabis. There would be no exceptions to the drug screening (eg: for individuals with a medical marijuana card).
