Position Title: Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer

Location: Andover, MA

Pay Rate: $70–$80 per hour

Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our team in Andover, MA. In this role, you’ll work on cutting-edge embedded digital systems, driving innovation through design, testing, and integration of advanced technologies. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of hardware engineers and cross-functional experts to deliver high-performance, reliable hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Debug & Verification

  • Debug and verify complex embedded digital hardware systems.
  • Perform hands-on lab testing using oscilloscopes, DVMs, and related tools.

Production & Customer Support

  • Diagnose and resolve defects at the circuit and component level.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions (RCCA).

Digital Hardware Design

  • Design and integrate next-generation embedded digital hardware products.
  • Work with technologies from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI, and other leading vendors.

Analysis & Evaluation

  • Conduct reliability analyses including derating, FMECA, and schematic integrity checks.
  • Utilize tools such as Mentor Valydate or equivalent for design verification.

BOM & Component Management

  • Maintain configuration control of Bill-of-Materials (BOM).
  • Manage component selection, obsolescence tracking, and lifecycle management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with architecture, systems engineering, firmware/software, mechanical, CAD, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration.

Module & Interface Design

  • Design processor modules, network switches, backplanes, and I/O modules.
  • Work with high-speed digital interfaces (Ethernet, PCIe, DDR SDRAM, DC/DC power, clocking, JTAG, SPI, I²C, UARTs).

Schematic Development

  • Develop detailed schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or similar design tools.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in digital hardware design, debugging, and system integration.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex embedded systems in both hardware and software environments.
