Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Level III

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Level III to join our team in Jamestown, NY. This full-time, second shift position is vital to ensuring our manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and automated systems while supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, install, test, and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, including CNC, automation, and robotics.
- Perform preventive maintenance and document findings in the maintenance system (e.g., Maximo).
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp amps, and meggers to ensure equipment functionality.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship to maximize equipment uptime and production quality.
- Report safety hazards, follow established safety protocols, and promote a safe workplace.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to apprenticeship training programs.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and other continuous improvement efforts.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support departments to improve processes.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized through routine housekeeping.
- Identify and address hazards with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Support other departments when needed to minimize downtime.
Qualifications & Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of mechanical maintenance or related skilled trade experience

OR completion of a 4-year, 8,000-hour apprenticeship + 1 year of field experience

OR a 2-year technical degree in machine repair, electrical, or related field + 3 years of experience
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Technical Knowledge:
- Expertise in troubleshooting mechanical, CNC, automation, and robotic systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo)
- Knowledge of NEC, IEC, and electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E certification preferred)

Compensation
- Pay Rate: $20–23/hr, based on experience
