Staff Accountant + Growth Opportunity + Northeast Nebraska

If you thrive in fast-moving environments and you take pride in accuracy, ownership, and getting things done right the first time — this could be your next move.  Our client, a growing, boots-on-the-ground organization, is looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant to take full ownership of Accounts Payable and bi-weekly Payroll. This is not a maintenance role; they welcome those that want to build, improve, and elevate the role, department, and organization. If you love creating order, strengthening processes, and being part of a team where the best ideas win, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Own

Accounts Payable

·                 Manage high-volume AP (100–120 invoices per week) across multiple vendor types

·                 Oversee full vendor onboarding and payment processes

·                 Ensure accurate invoice entry and documentation for clean financial reporting

·                 Perform vendor statement reconciliations and support month-end close

·                 Reconcile AP GL account and prepare weekly AP reporting for leadership

·                 Partner with leadership to improve workflows and internal controls

Payroll

·                 Manage the full bi-weekly payroll cycle from start to finish

·                 Calculate wages, taxes, deductions, benefits, and garnishments

·                 Process payroll payments and ensure timely tax filings

·                 Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

·                 Onboard employees in the payroll system and update compensation changes

·                 Ensure payroll costs are accurately posted to the GL

What They’re Looking For

·                 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll

·                 Degree in Accounting preferred (Associates or relevant experience considered)

·                 Ability to handle high volume with precision — accuracy is critical

·                 Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, blue-collar, casual environment

·                 Process-minded — someone who sees opportunities to improve and acts on them

·                 Self-starter with strong work ethic and a “best idea wins” mentality

·                 Ag industry experience is a plus, but not required.

Why This Role?

You’ll work directly with executive leadership, have visibility into core financial operations, and play a key role in strengthening foundational processes as the company grows. This is an opportunity to step in, make an impact, and truly own your lane. If you’re ready to be part of a team that values initiative, accuracy, and continuous improvement — we’d love to connect.
