 A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking a Part-time Development Associate. The Development Associate will support the fundraising, donor relations, and financial operations of an arts and culture nonprofit. This is an in-person, 3 days/week, Part-time role based in New York City.


ORGANIZATION: Arts and Culture Nonprofit

LOCATION: In person - Financial District, NYC

POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

SCHEDULE: 21-28 hrs/week, 3 days in person, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday  

DURATION: Ongoing

Pay- $24/hr - $26/hr (depending on experience)

This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the development office by managing donor data, processing gifts, supporting fundraising campaigns and events, and assisting with basic financial tasks. The Development Associate works closely with development and finance staff to maintain accurate records, generate reports, and help support donor stewardship and organizational growth.


 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of development or fundraising experience
  • Experience with Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge
  • Some experience with QuickBooks
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with basic finance tasks (Accounts Payable, deposits, reconciliations)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Interest in arts and culture nonprofit work


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Maintain and update donor records in Salesforce
  • Process donations, enter gifts, and generate donor acknowledgements
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns, events, and donor communications
  • Generate reports and track fundraising progress using Microsoft Excel
  • Support basic finance tasks, including Accounts Payable, entering deposits, and reconciliations
  • Assist with financial recordkeeping in QuickBooks
  • Help prepare mailing lists, donor reports, and campaign materials
  • Provide general administrative support to the development team
