Neat opportunity for an experienced Pump Mechanic out of Los Angeles County near Long Beach. Our shop is in Signal Hill but we are seeking a field service mechanic to assess issues with mechanical equipment and heavy pumps on-site (pumps are electric driven). These include storm pumps, water system pumps, fire pumps, sewage pumps and some HVAC equipment (air compressors, occasional gear boxes, and cooling towers). The service area is a 50-mile radius from Signal Hill and working at hospitals, high-rises, municipalities, museums, amusement parks and airports.

Compensation:

• $45.00-$50.00/hour.
• Flexibility for higher starting pay based on experience.
• No benefits package provided.

Duties:

• Analyze, troubleshoot, remove, take apart, and spec components.
• Alignments, rigging and testing.
• Removal, repair, and installation.
• Maintain basic electrical on pump controllers and motors.
• Some plumbing system maintenance with valves and fittings.
• Day shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday to Friday).

Qualifications:

• Proven mechanical experience in refinery, power plant, marine industry or pump manufacturer.
• Prior rigging experience.
• Ability to read micrometers.
• Basic electrical experience - single and two phase.
• Clean background check and valid drivers license with driving record in good standing.
