Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a General Laborer opportunity in Eunice, NM at Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility.

 

Work Location: On-Site at Urenco

 

UUSA, operated by Louisiana Energy Services LLC, is the only commercial enrichment facility operating in the US, and is located in Eunice, New Mexico.

 

Project Overview and Objectives

The General Laborer performs a variety of manual labor and project support activities in support of construction, maintenance, operations, and project execution. Work is performed under the direction of the Project Manager, Superintendent, or designated Project Point of Contact (POC). The position requires the ability to safely perform physical work while supporting multiple crafts and maintaining compliance with applicable safety, security, and quality requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The General Laborer may perform, but is not limited to, the following duties:
  • Clean and maintain construction trailers, offices, laydown yards, and project work areas.
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain safe and orderly work environments.
  • Load, unload, move, and distribute materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist skilled craft personnel during installation, maintenance, and construction activities.
  • Support installation of construction components, temporary facilities, and project infrastructure.
  • Stage materials and maintain organized storage locations.
  • Assist with inventory control and material accountability.
  • Install, relocate, and remove temporary fencing, barricades, signs, and safety barriers.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and construction materials throughout the project site.
  • Assist with excavation support, site preparation, and debris removal as assigned.
  • Perform traffic control and pedestrian safety support when required.
  • Provide escort support for construction personnel and visitors in controlled work areas.
  • Operate hand tools and basic power tools appropriate for assigned work.
  • Assist in setting up temporary work platforms, equipment, and jobsite facilities.
  • Remove waste materials and properly dispose of debris in accordance with site requirements.
  • Perform manual lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, digging, and other physically demanding tasks.
  • Support emergency response, severe weather preparation, and project recovery activities when directed.
  • Perform other related labor duties assigned by supervision.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous construction, industrial, maintenance, warehouse, or labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access and security clearances.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on assignment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to safely perform manual labor in industrial and construction environments.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to recognize and report unsafe conditions.
  • Basic familiarity with common hand and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • The employee must be able to:
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift more than 50 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing.
  • Work around construction equipment, industrial machinery, and moving vehicles.

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in industrial, construction, commercial, or government facilities and may include:
  • Active construction sites
  • Industrial facilities
  • Warehouses and material laydown yards
  • Outdoor environments exposed to weather
  • Areas requiring security access or controlled entry

 

Other Job Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • No security clearance required.
