We are currently in search for 7 on-site roles in New York City to support a high-profile literary conference on June 2nd and 3rd , 2026. This is a temporaryone to two day assignment. 

  

ORGANIZATION: Literary Conference 

POSITION TITLE: Event Support Staff 

LOCATION: New York, NY (East Harlem) 

SCHEDULE: June 2nd ranging from 1:00pm to 7:00pm, June 3rd ranging from 8:30 AM- 8:30 PM (Hours vary based on role) 

DURATION: One Day to Two Days 

HOURLY RATE: $17.00 - $20.00 

  

Is this Your Dream Job: We are hiring to support a high-profile event featuring live panels, VIP guests, and hundreds of attendees. Positions will be in charge of a variety of tasks including but not limited to: managing and tracking panel schedules, adjusting seating, providing support to panelists/VIPs, overseeing attendee check-in, check-in coats, event break-down etc. Ideal candidates are organized, personable, and experienced in live event production, hospitality, or guest services.

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You can manage multiple tasks efficiently and keep everything on track. 
  • Experienced in Events or Hospitality: Some experience in live event production, guest services, or hospitality. 
  • Strong Communicator: You’re clear and confident when communicating with team members, guests, and VIPs. 
  • Reliable & Professional: You show up on time, take ownership, and handle tasks with professionalism and discretion. 
  • Adaptable & Team-Oriented: You are comfortable assisting in different areas as needed and supporting the overall success of the event 
  • Comfortable lifting 15–20 pounds  
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude  
  • Learns quickly and takes direction well 

  

How You Will Spend Your Day: 

  • Managing and tracking panel schedules, providing 5 minute time cues to panelists 
  • Adjusting seating as needed 
  • Alternate panel coverage with co-stage manager on assigned track 
  • Oversee attendee check in and registration flow 
  • Provide snacks, water, and light assistance as needed 
  • Maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere backstage 
  • Lead registration team, hand out registration badges 
  • Direct people to programs and panels 
  • Checking coats 
  • Assist with crowd control, event breakdown, and other areas as needed 
  • Run day of errands for event manager
