JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate with 3–6 years of experience to join our law firm client in Des Moines, IA 50309. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation and experience or a strong interest in real estate, zoning, and renewable energy matters.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, motions practice, trial preparation, and trial.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance to clients.

• Handle real estate, zoning, and land use disputes, including matters related to renewable energy projects.

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver high-quality service.

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice and in good standing in Iowa.

• 3–6 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation.

• Experience or strong interest in real estate, zoning, and renewable energy matters.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.

• A collaborative approach and a commitment to excellent client service.
