Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across Canada through prospecting, networking, and client visits.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in both new and existing accounts.
- Analyze client needs and recommend tailored solutions from our product portfolio, including hardwood plywood, MDF, and specialty panels.
- Monitor and assess market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure seamless customer experience and program execution.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies to maximize revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and reports to support business development efforts.
- Represent company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and cultivate new leads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in B2B distribution or a related industry.
- Demonstrated success in identifying prospects, closing deals, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable in fast-paced and competitive environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% across Canada for client meetings and business development activities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); CRM system experience is an asset.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and customer insights to drive business decisions.
