Our client is a trusted name in custom millwork, providing high-quality mouldings, trim, and building materials to contractors, builders, and retailers throughout the Lower Mainland. With a reputation built on craftsmanship, fast turnaround, and personalized service, they continue to expand their product lines, including siding, decking, paneling, and finishing products, to better serve the needs of BC’s construction industry.
They are currently seeking a motivated Inside/Outside Sales Representative to join their growing sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with contractors, builders, and retail partners, promoting our client’s entry-level product lines and finishing materials (e.g., siding, decking, fascia, and trims), and ensuring customer satisfaction from quote to delivery. This is a hybrid role with both in-office (inside sales) and on-the-road (outside sales) responsibilities. Mondays and Fridays in-office presence is required.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell entry line building materials and finishing products to new and existing clients (contractors, builders, and retailers).
- Maintain and grow a portfolio of loyal accounts through regular communication and site visits.
- Identify customer needs and provide product recommendations based on applications, specifications, and budget.
- Prepare quotations, process orders, and track job progress in collaboration with the production and logistics teams.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner, resolving any issues that arise.
- Stay informed on product knowledge, market trends, and competitors’ offerings.
- Provide feedback from the field to help improve product offerings and customer service processes.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and activity reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building materials sales, ideally in siding, decking, or millwork.
- Strong knowledge of construction terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; customer-focused mindset.
- Comfortable managing both in-office and field-based sales activities.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM platforms (experience with ERP systems a plus).
Compensation:
- Year 1: $70,000 base salary. Year 2: $55,000 base salary + 10% commission on net sales (six figure OTE)
