Our focus is on delivering personalized service, quality assurance engagements, and tax expertise. We are seeking a Senior File Preparer to join our collaborative team of professionals.


Position Summary

As a Senior File Preparer, you will work directly with complex client files, including those with multiple entities. You will be responsible for file preparation, year-end working papers, assurance files, and personal and corporate tax returns. This is a client-facing role suited to individuals who enjoy detailed file work and take initiative with high-level client engagements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete compilation (Notice to Reader) and assurance engagements (review and/or audit) for complex clients
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers using CaseWare
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns using Profile Tax Suite
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather necessary information and resolve queries
  • Handle files for clients with multiple entities and intercompany transactions
  • Support and review junior staff work as required
  • Maintain working knowledge of current Canadian accounting and tax standards


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in public practice (Canadian firm)
  • CPA designation or in the final stages of completion
  • Strong technical knowledge in assurance engagements and tax compliance
  • Demonstrated experience with complex client files
  • Proficient in CaseWare Working Papers and Profile Tax Suite (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in client interactions
