About Our Client:
Our client is a full-scope contractor specializing in drilling/blasting and related services. We are looking for a driven operations manager or project manager who is a big picture thinker, willing to grow the business and network and be a highly impactful team member. Candidates should come from the drilling industry or heavy civil construction industry and be working at the project manager or operation manager level. Reporting to the owner, this position will manage a team of foreman and superintendents and be involved in contract negotiation and client communication.
This position will include a base salary and bonus that will allow the successful candidate to make $180-200k total earnings, plus car compensation and benefits. Candidates can be based anywhere around BC as long as they are willing to travel to job sites around the province.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement corporate-wide construction policies, procedures, and operational strategies.
- Manage the planning and execution of facility development, renovation, and maintenance projects.
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial management of construction operations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage construction teams, including project managers, site supervisors, and other staff.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Monitor and optimize operational efficiency, quality, and safety across all construction activities.
- Coordinate with executive leadership to align construction initiatives with corporate objectives.
- Review and approve project proposals, plans, and budgets.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to construction operations and produce regular reports for senior management.
- Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and sustainability.
- Liaise with clients to ensure continued relationships and contract procurements
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in drilling or blasting, or civil construction. Experience working in the field and moving into project management/operations.
- Extensive experience in construction operations management.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with construction management software and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or OSHA certification.
- Experience with large-scale facilities management and organizational construction projects.
