About The Role
Our client is a small engineering consulting firm based in Kamloops that specializes in wastewater consulting. We are looking for a professional to join their team to engage in wastewater consulting and design. This is an opportunity to join a small team of professionals that value high quality engineering work, delivering value to clients and finding the right balance of work/life, living in beautiful Kamloops, BC. Our client is willing to relocate the right individual to their city for the position.
Candidates with a professional designation (P.Geo, P.Eng or P.Ag), an interest in groundwater and wastewater consulting, and 2-5 years of experience in environmental consulting are encouraged to apply. We are open to geoscientists, geotechnicians, hydrologists, hydrogeologists, or engineers in different disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- Project management of wastewater projects in both private and public settings.
- Perform technical research related to projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert on wastewater treatment process analysis (biological, mechanical and chemical).
- Direct the work of drafters and designers while mentoring and coaching.
- Perform onsite wastewater disposal system investigations.
- Design wastewater systems.
Qualifications:
- A current designation of P.Geo, P.Ag or P.Eng, preferably in BC.
- Experience in project management.
- An interest in learning wastewater consulting and design.
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a related consulting discipline.
- An aptitude in onsite wastewater disposal system investigations and design is a major asset.
- General understanding of hydrogeology, environmental sciences and treated wastewater studies.
- Experience in well water drilling and rehabilitation programs, pumping tests, slug tests and water sampling is considered an asset.
- ROWP designation is considered a major asset but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willing to re-locate to Kamloops, BC.
