A well-established, privately held controls and automation solutions provider based in Vancouver. The company specializes in delivering engineered systems for industrial, commercial, and institutional applications, offering a full range of services including design, assembly, programming, and field support. Known for its customer-centric approach and technical expertise, the company supports a diverse client base across multiple sectors, including HVAC, utilities, and process industries.


Responsibilities:


Sales & Business Development

  • Develop sales strategies and grow market presence through key customer and project pursuits.
  • Build relationships with mechanical consultants and conduct lunch-and-learns to increase brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing and secure project wins.
  • Support leadership in creating market baselines and competitive cost strategies.


Project Estimation & Bidding

  • Review project scope, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive bids.
  • Track and meet bid deadlines while ensuring documentation is properly organized for execution teams.
  • Conduct estimate reviews, analyze win/loss outcomes, and continuously improve pricing accuracy.
  • Work with project teams to ensure scope clarity, mitigate risks, and align with contractual obligations.


Change Orders & Service Projects

  • Assist with pricing and estimating change orders, ensuring accuracy with input from relevant teams.
  • Attend client sites to define service retrofit scopes and prepare high-quality proposals.
  • Identify service opportunities and promote long-term service contracts following construction handover.



Qualifications:

  • Background in Sales Engineering, Controls Engineering, or experience as a DDC/BMS Technician or Account Executive.
  • Familiarity with HVAC controls, mechanical/electrical drawings, and estimating construction projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations and written proposals.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills in fast-paced settings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); spreadsheet and data analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable making informed decisions and offering suggestions for improvements.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and vendors to understand project scope.
  • Open to continuous learning and contributing to a collaborative, positive team culture.



Location: North Vancouver (Hybrid)


Salary and benefits: Up to $110,000 | Health Benefits | Paid Vacation | Car/Travel Allowance
