Our client is a successful non-profit organization offering support services to those experiencing mental health issues or facing homelessness in the Greater Vancouver Area.
To further develop and streamline their HR Team, they are seeking a compassionate and strategic Director, HR Talent and Strategy to lead their human resources function and help them grow and sustain a resilient, mission-driven team.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who understands the unique needs of a nonprofit environment and is committed to equity, inclusion, and staff development. Previous experience with unions/labour relations, change management, and training & development are expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Human Resources strategy, policy development, and compliance with employment standards and organizational values.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to develop a strong, values-aligned team.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on performance, employee relations, and workforce planning.
- Develop HR systems and processes, and deliver training leadership and front line managers.
- Support leadership in organizational design, change management, and succession planning.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with our client’s mission.
- Lead staff engagement and wellness initiatives.
- Oversee Health and Safety department.
- Manage the HR reporting processes.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPHR designation or equivalent experience is an asset.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the nonprofit/social services/government sector in a leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practices in people management.
- Experience in unionized settings.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Compensation
- $120,000-140,000 annual base salary.
