Overview: The Master Cabinet Maker and Fabricator role is essential to creating high-quality, custom millwork and furniture pieces. This role involves interpreting detailed engineering drawings, selecting materials, and collaborating with other departments to ensure each piece meets our standards of craftsmanship. Reporting to the Fabrication Team Leader, the Master Cabinet Maker will work in a team environment, contributing to an efficient and collaborative workspace.
Responsibilities:
- Review, interpret, and apply construction drawings and build books accurately.
- Select, prepare, and verify materials to ensure they meet quality standards before processing.
- Construct custom cabinetry, furniture, and millwork elements using standard wood processing machines.
- Package finished goods effectively for smooth assembly on-site by installation teams.
- Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections to maintain quality and identify areas for process improvement.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure efficiency and consistency in production.
- Adhere to safety protocols, fostering a safe and organized workspace.
- Meet tight production schedules while delivering high-quality work.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cabinet making, with preference given to candidates with formal training.
- Strong background in working within a millwork team, consistently delivering on time and within budget.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, material specifications, and build books.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is an asset.
- Positive, collaborative attitude with excellent communication skills and a problem-solving approach.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand at a workbench for up to 8 hours.
- Strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills, with an eye for detail.
- Commitment to a high standard of craftsmanship and quality in all work.
Salary: Up to $40/hr
