Our client is a Canadian leader in providing specialized materials testing and engineering services for the construction industry. Their offerings include a wide range of services such as materials testing, geotechnical and environmental engineering, quality management, and consulting for concrete restoration.



Job Summary


The IT Manager will provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the IT team while driving strategic technology initiatives to support business operations. This role involves managing infrastructure, overseeing systems administration, ensuring service excellence, and building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, including conducting training, orientations, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for information technology to align with organizational goals.
  • Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure operational efficiency and security.
  • Collaborate with internal business leaders and external partners to anticipate needs, proactively manage user expectations, and ensure service levels are consistently met.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, system partners, and service providers.
  • Oversee Windows infrastructure, including system and network administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer ERP systems to ensure seamless operations and functionality.
  • Manage Office 365 administration, ensuring optimal use and performance across the organization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues promptly.
  • Coordinate occasional travel to other branches throughout the Lower Mainland and British Columbia to support IT operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with proven success in managing teams and projects.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based applications and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and reliable vehicle for occasional travel.


Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in system infrastructure, ERP systems, and Office 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.



Salary and benefits: Up to $120,000 | 15 days vacation leave, health benefits, 3% RRSP matching, and potential bonus.
