Top firm growing expansively into the city from Essex County is seeking a 5th year to 10th year Commercial Litigation Associate with substantive corporate litigation
The litigation group is large, comprising over 30 seasoned litigators, including former federal and state prosecutors, experience managing complex commercial matters. The firm has received “Metropolitan Tier 3” rankings in Commercial Litigation in the New York City metropolitan area from the U.S. News & World Report Best Law Firms survey, illustrating peer and client recognition for its commercial litigation work.
They have demonstrated capacity for both negotiation and litigation in federal, state, appellate courts, and alternative dispute resolution settings ranging from medical malpractice, to trademark litigation, class action tort, and construction law amongst many other areas. The ideal candidate will support senior counsel and independently handle cases across all litigation stages. Requires active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey, and familiarity with NY CPLR and Federal Rules and will be comfortable handling high-value, complex commercial and business litigation matters across multiple industries and courts in NYC and nearby jurisdictions.
Responsibilities: Manage complex commercial litigation caseload, conduct legal research, draft pleadings/motions, represent clients in court (hearings, trials, arbitrations, appeals), participate in depositions, maintain communication, and stay current on legal developments. They service across all major business dispute areas, including construction and surety litigation, bid protests, employment disputes, and professional liability claims. and have demonstrated capacity for both negotiation and litigation in federal, state, appellate courts, and alternative dispute resolution settings.
