This top-tier facility houses a high-volume Level 3 NICU with a daily census of 75 and 150 FTEs, making this Manager role a critical strategic position.

Job Description

Inspire and spearhead operational excellence as the Nurse Manager for our high-acuity Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is designed for a visionary leader ready to drive superior clinical identity and maintain an unparalleled patient experience. You will provide strategic oversight of the entire unit's daily function, staffing, and clinical outcomes, directly impacting the most vulnerable patient population.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Championing Quality: Operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety, reduce variation in clinical practice, and support the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Leadership & Accountability: Ensuring a culture of accountability and transparency among staff (150 FTEs) regarding the provision of care, clinical quality, and service excellence.
  • Operational Management: Overseeing efficient throughput by managing admissions and discharge processes, ensuring effective interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments.
  • Talent Development: Identifying training needs and development opportunities for team members to ensure the assignment of staff with the appropriate clinical competencies.

Required Skills

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) REQUIRED.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5+ years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Leadership: Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in an acute care setting.
  • Licensure: Active Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license.
  • Note: FT/PT/PRN colleagues with a compact license from a state other than Texas must apply for a Texas RN license within 60 days of hire and obtain it within 6 months.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Skills

  • Specialty Certification (such as RNC-NIC) obtained or planned within 6 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume Level 3 NICU or equivalent high-acuity unit.
  • Proven ability to manage a large team (100+ FTEs) and a unit with significant daily census (75+).
