§ Title: Senior Private Wealth Counsel | Partnership-Track Associate

Practice Area: Sophisticated Estate Planning and Fiduciary Wealth Management


§ Location: Greenwich, Connecticut (Premier Fairfield County Location)


§ Salary: $195,000 to $325,000 Base Salary (Plus comprehensive bonus eligibility and a premium benefits package)


§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 hours annual billed target

§ Duties

The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design and execution of bespoke wealth transfer strategies for a high-net-worth clientele. This position demands a high degree of autonomy and the ability to manage complex fiduciary matters from inception through completion.

Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Architecting and drafting comprehensive testamentary and lifetime transfer instruments, including sophisticated wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and ancillary directives.

⨖ Leading client conferences to identify objectives and provide strategic counsel on wealth preservation and tax mitigation.

⨖ Overseeing the full lifecycle of probate and trust administration in collaboration with paralegals, fiduciary accountants, and senior partners.

⨖ Reviewing and preparing complex tax filings, including federal and state gift tax returns (Form 709), estate tax returns (Form 706), and fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041).

⨖ Executing deep-dive tax research regarding evolving federal and state statutes to ensure optimal compliance and strategic positioning for client portfolios.

⨖ Advising institutional and individual clients on philanthropic endeavors and the establishment of charitable planning vehicles.


§ Qualifications

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with a record of academic distinction.

⨖ Active admission to the Connecticut Bar, or a demonstrated willingness and eligibility to obtain admission promptly.

⨖ Four (4) to ten (10) years of substantive experience specifically focused on Trusts and Estates within a reputable law firm environment.

⨖ Proven expertise in drafting complex estate planning documents for individuals with significant net worth.

⨖ Direct experience in the administration of large, multi-faceted estates and trusts within the Connecticut probate system.


§ Skills

⨖ An L.L.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning from a highly regarded graduate law program.

⨖ Exceptional interpersonal skills and the emotional intelligence required to navigate sensitive family dynamics and multi-generational wealth discussions.

⨖ Superior technical writing abilities with a focus on precision and clarity in complex legal drafting.

⨖ A professional philosophy aligned with long-term career growth and a desire to contribute to the firm’s continued legacy in the Greenwich market.

⨖ Strong analytical capabilities regarding fiduciary accounting and the financial implications of varied trust structures.
