People Placers is partnered with a boutique litigation firm specializing in insurance law and recognized internationally as a top player in the insurance defense practice group. They are based out of New York City and have opened an office in 2009 to expand their footprint. They are looking to hire more individuals into the Ft. Lauderdale office as they continue to grow, taking on matters beyond first party property, in matters of Insurance & Reinsurance Coverage Law, D&O's, Fiduciary Responsibility, Subrogation, and Complex Insurance Claim Defense Litigation.

Being one of the most respected law firms within the insurance defense practice space and with a national presence as a premier legal defense firm handling complex civil litigation matters as well as commercial litigation, the firm has open positions for the following opportunity

Job Duties

• Handle independently as caseload of approximately 25-40 cases end-to-end in matters such as complex insurance coverage litigation, subrogation between two insurance providers, first & third party property casualty, hurricane flooding, third‑party liability, professional liability, and bad faith coverage disputes, D&O's, A&E's.
• Independently handle matters, including all phases of litigation, motion practice, coverage opinions, discovery, and client communications as part of a collaborative team in a nationally prominent practice.
• Attend court hearings in person or over ZOOM when called to.
• Zealously representing your client in every matter
• Legal research and analysis as well as forensic investigation on major claims for payout from liability and insurance.

Requirements:

-JD from an accredited law school and above-average academic credentials.

-Admission to practice law in Florida.

-At least 3 years of experience in the private practice of law.

-Working experience providing legal defense for complex insurance claims and related matters

Ideal Candidate Profile:

-Represented high-end insurance carriers, some of the biggest being Lloyd's, Chubb, AIG and others. 

-Handled multi-million dollar insurance claims defending the carrier and it's insureds from massive payment claims

-Admission to multiple U.S. jurisdictions (i.e. FL, TX).

-Litigation experience handling insurance coverage matters, with substantial experience in all phases of litigation from pre-litigation management through motion practice and settlement or trial phase.

-Superb legal writing skill and forensic legal analysis and research proficiency.

Salary Range:

$145k - $165k+ commensurate with experience and potential portable book of business. 

Annual billables bonus (over 1,800 hours) of up to $50k can be earned and a fully comprehensive benefits, healthcare coverage, PTO.
