Do you have event planning experience?


We are currently in search of an Events Lead for an International Nonprofit Organization. This is a Part-Time (5-10 hrs./wk, upwards of 15 hrs./wk. during event week), Fully Remote, Temporary (through June 2026) assignment.


JOB TITLE: Events Lead

LOCATION: Fully Remote (must be located in Illinois)

SCHEDULE: Fully Remote (must be willing to work EST hours between 8 AM - 5 PM EST)

DURATION: Temporary (through June 2026)

HOURLY RATE: $35-38/hr. DOE


Is This Your Dream Job? The Events Lead will plan and execute engaging events, specifically two events being held in Toronto in May, and Chicago (TBD, but likely in June).


Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of in-person event planning experience, with a strong preference for experience supporting donor or member engagement at a nonprofit organization
  • Ability to identify and implement best practices related to event accessibility, with a dedication to meeting the needs of the organization's donor community
  • Proficient with Asana and EveryAction preferred
  • Knowledge of vegan diets and able to craft high-quality, fully vegan menus that are both creative and delicious
  • Ability to independently resolve problems and make decisions, demonstrating sound judgment and adherence to organizational policies
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences in a positive, professional, and friendly manner across verbal and written formats
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and deadlines. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and adjust plans in response to new developments
  • A writing sample will be required


Key Responsibilities:


  • Create, print, and ship any necessary event signage
  • Vendor Coordination
  • Research and select vendors (food, beverage, A/V, and others as needed)
  • Coordinate logistics with venues and vendors
  • Serve as primary contact for venues, vendors, and donor hosts
  • Staff Support
  • Prepare and support the organization's staff who will be attending
  • Make the event plans (including run of shows and floor plans)
  • Keep the organization's staff informed with event & guestlist updates
