Position: Vice President of Procurement

Location: Remote (U.S.-based) with travel to project sites as required

We are seeking a Vice President of Procurement to lead our procurement strategy, supply chain management, and vendor relationships across our renewable energy portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with best-in-class technology and partners.


Key Responsibilities


Procurement Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy to support utility-scale renewable energy and storage projects.
  • Lead the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of major equipment, materials, and services (e.g., PV modules, wind turbines, inverters, transformers, BESS systems, EPC services).
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with OEMs, EPCs, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Monitor global renewable energy supply chain trends, pricing, and risks; provide market intelligence to executive leadership.


Contract & Risk Management

  • Negotiate commercial terms for supply and service agreements, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, and risk allocation.
  • Oversee the development of master service agreements (MSAs), framework supply agreements, and project-level contracts.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Development teams to align procurement contracts with project financing requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Project Development, Engineering, and Construction teams to align procurement decisions with technical, schedule, and permitting needs.
  • Support project due diligence, bid responses, and investment committee reviews.
  • Provide procurement leadership during project execution, including resolving supply chain challenges and ensuring timely delivery.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
  • Establish best practices, policies, and systems for procurement governance and reporting.
  • Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Sustainability & Compliance

  • Ensure all procurement activities support company ESG goals, including responsible sourcing and supplier diversity.
  • Maintain compliance with domestic content requirements (IRA, Buy America, etc.) and international trade regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of procurement/supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record negotiating major equipment and EPC contracts for utility-scale solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects.
  • Strong knowledge of global renewable energy supply chain dynamics, pricing, logistics, and risk management.
  • Experience working for an IPP, EPC, or major renewable energy developer strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work remotely with regular travel (approx. 20–30%) to suppliers, project sites, and corporate offices.
