H9 Talent Solutions are looking to identify a Contract Junior Process Design Engineer; our client is a leading clean energy developer dedicated to advancing the energy transition through the delivery of world-class green hydrogen projects. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and decarbonisation, they are driving the development of next-generation hydrogen infrastructure that will help shape a cleaner future. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in the green hydrogen sector, supporting the design and delivery of pioneering clean energy projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and mass and energy balances for green hydrogen systems.
- Support process modelling and simulation activities for electrolysis, compression, purification, and storage systems.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, datasheets, and design documentation.
- Work alongside senior process engineers to develop design calculations, equipment sizing, and system optimisation studies.
- Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and design reviews under the supervision of experienced engineers.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to collect technical information and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Support the monitoring of health, safety, and environmental standards in design and project execution.
- Collaborate with colleagues from mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines on integrated hydrogen project solutions.
- Contribute to innovation and R&D initiatives to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of hydrogen technology.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Chemical, Process Engineering
- Ideally 2+ years’ experience in process engineering
- Exposure to Clean Energy, Hydrogen or Chemical sectors (desirable)
- Familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, or similar) desirable.
- Knowledge of hydrogen production, gas processing, or clean energy technologies advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
