We are seeking a Preconstruction Manager to join our Denver-based team. This individual will play a pivotal role in project development and execution planning—bridging the gap between early project conceptualization and construction mobilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Development Support
- Lead preconstruction efforts from project inception through notice to proceed.
- Collaborate with business development and project development teams to define project scope, schedule, budget, and risk profile.
- Estimating & Cost Control
- Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for EPC renewable energy projects.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier RFQs, bid leveling, and value engineering opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labor, material, and equipment pricing.
- Design & Engineering Coordination
- Partner with engineering teams to review design concepts, identify constructability concerns, and optimize design for cost and schedule efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and permitting conditions.
- Schedule Development
- Prepare preliminary construction schedules and phasing plans.
- Identify long-lead procurement items and critical path activities.
- Risk Management & Due Diligence
- Conduct constructability reviews, site assessments, and logistics evaluations.
- Identify potential project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support proposal development, presentations, and client meetings.
- Provide technical and commercial input to contracts and project negotiations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus).
- 7+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within EPC, construction, or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven track record in utility-scale solar, wind, or energy storage projects strongly preferred.
- Proficient with estimating software, scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), and general project management platforms.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
