About the Role

As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead all aspects of the HR function, driving initiatives that support workforce development, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operations-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and at least 7 years of progressive HR experience—preferably within the construction, trades, or manufacturing sectors. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus. Strong knowledge of California labor law, employee relations, and workforce planning is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and safety regulations
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to the construction industry
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational planning, performance management, and employee relations
  • Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and leave management in collaboration with the accounting team
  • Drive training initiatives, leadership development programs, and succession planning efforts
  • Maintain and enhance the company culture through engagement strategies and recognition programs
  • Conduct investigations, manage disciplinary actions, and resolve workplace issues fairly and promptly
  • Manage HR systems, personnel records, and reporting with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy
