- $27.70 – $41.55 per hour
- $57,616 – $86,424 per year

Job Duties:
- Perform assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of respiratory care for patients of all ages
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop and execute individualized, age-specific care plans
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, including mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medication delivery
- Manage ventilator settings, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Respond to emergency situations (e.g., Code Blue, Rapid Response) and provide advanced airway management
- Document patient care activities accurately in the EMR
- Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement projects, and staff education

Serve as a clinical role model for peers, students, and interdisciplinary partners
Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from a CoARC-accredited program (Bachelor’s preferred)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Virginia State Board of Medicine license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS certification required (must be obtained within 3 months if not current)
- ACLS, PALS, or NRP certifications required within one year of hire (based on department)
- Demonstrated teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Experience in acute or critical care respiratory therapy preferred

Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) preferred
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Experience with advanced ventilator modes and ECMO support
- Familiarity with hospital EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Prior experience in NICU, ICU, or Emergency Department settings
- Clinical instructor or preceptor experience
- Active participation in continuing education and evidence-based practice initiatives
