Emergency Room Registered Nurse


Palatka, FL | Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis

Salary Range: $30.60 - $45.90 per hour (based on years of experience)

Differentials:

  • $4.25 for nights;
  • Weekend differential is $2.00
  • Sign-On Bonus of up $25,000


Available Shifts:

Days (Rotating Weekends)

Nights (Rotating Weekends)

Evenings (Rotating Weekends)


We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our client's facilities in North Florida to serve an underprivileged population at a local flagship hospital complex. This role will enable you to consistently deliver the best in patient clinical care, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every encounter with patients, families, visitors, and other employees.


Responsibilities:

  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Identify and monitor patient care requirements by recording and reporting symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Administer medications as ordered.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses, conditions, and physician orders.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Review, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Promote patients' independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Delegate and supervise personnel.
  • Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
  • Coordinate admissions and discharge planning.
  • Instruct individuals, families, and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth.
  • Direct and coordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
  • Provide or arrange for training/instruction of auxiliary personnel or students.
  • Engage in research activities related to nursing.


Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Acute Care ER experience required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • If a candidate has 3 or more years of experience as an RN and has their compact license, they will need to apply for the FL license.
  • If a candidate has less than 3 years of RN experience, they will need to take the NCLEX in FL and once they pass, they can be considered.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
