This is a full time in person position


Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the accounting functions for a growing nursing home group with approximately 20 facilities. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with GAAP standards, and working closely with the Controller to maintain the integrity of the company’s financials. The ideal candidate will also oversee the month-end close process, handle all types of audits, including cost report audits, and ensure strong internal controls are in place.


Responsibilities:


Financial Oversight:

  • Manage and oversee the accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.


Month-End Close Process:

  • Supervise and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy in all journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Review and analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and ensure consistency across all facilities.


Audit & Compliance:

  • Handle all types of audits, including cost report audits, and ensure timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and implement audit recommendations.


Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Controller to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.


Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and trends.


Qualifications:


  • Experience working with healthcare financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in the long-term care industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
