Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for taking new product concepts from idea to market, with a primary focus on sourcing suppliers, identifying and vetting manufacturers, and managing external relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the OTC pharmaceutical landscape and a proven track record of developing compliant, high-quality consumer health products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new OTC pharmaceutical products from concept through commercialization.
- Identify and evaluate contract manufacturers, formulators, and raw material suppliers to support new product initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams (regulatory, quality, marketing, legal) to ensure all products meet regulatory and brand standards.
- Manage project timelines and ensure all milestones are achieved, including formulation, testing, packaging, and production.
- Conduct competitive and market research to inform product positioning and innovation strategies.
- Negotiate terms with vendors and manage vendor onboarding processes in collaboration with procurement and legal teams.
- Ensure all products are developed in compliance with FDA regulations and relevant industry standards (e.g., cGMP, USP).
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in OTC pharmaceutical product development, sourcing, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment for OTC drugs in the U.S. (FDA monographs, NDA, ANDA, etc.).
- Experience working with third-party manufacturers and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
