Sales Engineer

$100,000 base + commission (OTE $150,000)
A growing accounting software company is looking for a Sales Engineer who blends bookkeeping expertise with the communication skills of a natural relationship-builder. You'll be the technical backbone of the sales team — handling complex demos, translating workflows into solutions, and helping prospects see exactly how the product fits their business.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Account Executive throughout the sales process to support and close deals
- Lead deep-dive product demos tailored to complex client needs and workflows
- Translate bookkeeping and accounting workflows into clear, compelling product value
- Serve as the go-to resource for prospects with technical or process-related questions
- Identify client pain points and architect solutions using the product's capabilities
- Provide feedback to the product team based on patterns you're seeing in the field
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within e-commerce
- Strong understanding of accounting workflows and how businesses manage their books
- Exceptional communication skills — you can explain complex concepts simply and confidently
- Comfortable in a client-facing, consultative role
- Natural collaborator who thrives working as part of a two-person sales team
Additional perks to have:
- Prior experience in a sales engineering, solutions consulting, or pre-sales role
- Familiarity with accounting software platforms (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon, etc.)
