The OPWDD Com Hab and Respite Team Leader is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Coordinators providing coordination for Community Habilitation (Com Hab) and Respite services. This position ensures high-quality, person-centered care and compliance with OPWDD regulations. The Team Leader will collaborate with the HCBS Director, Intake Department, and other supervisors to ensure smooth operations, effective service delivery, and a supportive work environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the HCBS Director and Intake Department to match new participants with appropriate Coordinators.
  • Manage and maintain proportional caseloads across Coordinators, handling enrollment and disenrollment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD standards, reviewing plans, notes, assessments, and applications regularly for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with audits and ensure documentation aligns with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Review DSP payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Supervise and provide ongoing support to Coordinators, fostering professional growth through on- the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure Coordinators meet quality standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, addressing productivity and providing actionable guidance for improvement.
  • Review and approve employee timecards, ensuring accuracy prior to payroll submission.
  • Work closely with other HCBS department supervisors to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Act as a liaison with OPWDD and other state agencies as necessary.
  • Address and resolve participant and family complaints, ensuring satisfaction and adherence to program goals.


Qualifications:


• Experience in managing teams and providing developmental services within OPWDD guidelines.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficiency in documentation, compliance standards, and audit preparation.

• Familiarity with HCBS and OPWDD policies and procedures.

• Leadership and coaching abilities to develop and support staff.

• Analytical skills for reviewing documentation and improving program quality.

• Problem-solving mindset to handle complaints and operational challenges.

• Commitment to maintaining a person-centered approach in service delivery.
