Our client is seeking an entry level ambitious, detail oriented individual who will receive a full comprehensive training on medical billing in a growing Mental Health organization with significant potential for advancement into an executive role. This role has negotiable flexible hours with Hybrid options (subject to change).



Responsibilities:


  • Claims Preparation and Submission: Accurately prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies using electronic billing systems.
  • Patient Billing: Generate and send patient invoices, ensuring clarity and accuracy in billing statements.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services being rendered.
  • Follow-Up on Claims: Track and follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving issues with insurance companies to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate patient and billing records in the company’s practice management software.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing practices adhere to federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
  • Customer Service: Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reporting: Assist in generating basic financial reports related to billing and collections for management review.





Qualifications:


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certificate in medical billing preferred.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; 0–1 year of experience in medical billing or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn billing software quickly. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients and insurance representatives. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
