Our client is seeking a Medical Data Analyst to join our analytics and billing operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare and billing data to identify trends, improve revenue cycle efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from billing systems, EHRs, and practice management software.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as denial rates, reimbursement trends, claim turnaround times, and payer performance.
- Identify data anomalies, patterns, and opportunities to improve billing accuracy and reduce revenue leakage.
- Collaborate with billing teams, finance, and compliance departments to optimize processes and ensure data integrity.
- Monitor payer policy changes and model their potential financial impact.
- Support management in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning using historical billing data.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations.
- Present analytical findings and actionable insights to leadership in clear, concise formats.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.

1+ of experience in healthcare data analytics, medical billing, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Looker).
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding, and payer reimbursement processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience maintaining data accuracy and integrity within healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA).
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with EHR and billing platforms
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
- Certification in data analytics or healthcare compliance (e.g., CHDA, CPC, or CCS).
