Stone & Tile Estimator

Our client is seeking an Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for stone and tile installation projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, conducting site visits, calculating material and labor costs, and collaborating with clients, suppliers, and project teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.


Responsibilities:


  • Review architectural plans, blueprints, and project specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Perform on-site measurements and assessments to gather data for accurate estimates.
  • Calculate quantities of stone, tile, and related materials, including adhesives, grout, and sealants.
  • Estimate labor costs based on project scope, complexity, and timelines.
  • Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective materials and services.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate bid proposals, including breakdowns of costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and clients to clarify project requirements and address concerns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and installation techniques.
  • Use estimating software and tools to streamline the bidding process and ensure accuracy.
  • Provide post-project analysis to compare estimated costs to actual costs for future improvements.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or a related field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in estimating for stone, tile, or construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of stone and tile materials, installation methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for precise calculations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
