Our client is seeking a dynamic and outgoing Sales Assistant to support the CEO of their home furnishings and accessories company, based in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. This on-site role offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while assisting with client visits and cultivating relationships in the industry. The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines under a high-volume workload. This position provides a unique chance to work closely with the CEO, supporting sales initiatives, building a career within a vibrant team, and gaining exposure to a wide range of accounts in the home furnishings market.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the CEO in the development stages of home furnishings and accessories, providing insights on design trends and product direction.
  • Collaborate with the Art and design teams to ensure alignment with the CEO’s vision, tracking progress to meet deadlines.
  • Attend client meetings and visits with the CEO, taking detailed notes on buyer feedback and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of styles, orders, and shipping timelines for seamless execution.
  • Review factory samples, ensuring styles align with brand storytelling, and communicate detailed feedback on colors, details, and necessary revisions.
  • Assist in preparing customer quote sheets and purchase order details to facilitate order placement.
  • Work directly with clients on revisions, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally.


Qualifications:


  • Experience with TJX, Ross, or similar discounted retailers is a significant advantage.
  • 3+ years of experience in wholesale sales, ideally in home furnishings or a related field.
  • Comfortable supporting phone-based sales efforts and engaging in negotiations alongside the CEO.
  • Exceptional listening, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, or a related field, with experience in wholesale imports or home furnishings; or an Associate’s Degree with 2-3 years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of sales experience in a similar industry.
