Healthcare Controller

North Jersey

$180,000 - $210,000


This is a full time in person position


Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial operations of a growing nursing home group with approximately 20 facilities. The Controller will oversee all aspects of the finance team, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining strong banking relationships, and ensuring timely closing of financial periods. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Accounting Director to uphold the integrity of the company’s financials, supervise treasury functions, manage external audits, and oversee the maintenance of cash flow projections to ensure operational stability.


Responsibilities:


Financial Oversight:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.


Team Leadership:

  • Oversee and provide guidance to the finance and accounting teams.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Director to ensure consistent and accurate financial processes across all facilities.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities to the finance team.


Audit & Compliance:

  • Manage and coordinate all external audits and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Implement audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls where necessary.


Treasury & Cash Management:

  • Supervise treasury functions, ensuring adequate liquidity and effective cash management across multiple bank platforms.
  • Oversee banking relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure smooth execution of financial transactions.
  • Monitor and oversee the maintenance of cash flow projections to ensure operational needs are met and to guide decision-making.


Financial Analysis & Strategy:

  • Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve financial performance and efficiency.


Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial partners.
  • Serve as the point of contact for financial and regulatory inquiries.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with healthcare financial systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the long-term care industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
