The Office Construction Project Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall planning, execution, and successful completion of office construction projects. This includes overseeing a team of Construction Project Managers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, communication, and technical skills, along with a proven track record in office construction project management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of assigned office construction projects, from initial planning and design to final closeout. This includes monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Directly supervise and mentor a team of Construction Project Managers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback. This includes assigning projects, setting expectations, and conducting regular team meetings.
- Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze budget variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and proactively address potential delays. Utilize project management software and tools to effectively track and communicate schedule updates.
- Review and manage contracts with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that construction meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations. Conduct regular site inspections and address any quality issues promptly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and assess potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address risks to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure that all projects are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to all applicable safety regulations and company policies. Promote a strong safety culture within the team.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, including progress updates, budget status, and risk assessments.
- Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience in construction project management, with a significant portion of that experience focused on office construction projects. Demonstrated experience managing teams of project managers.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team of project managers. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
