HiFyve is hiring a Lead CNC Lathe Programmer in the Manufacturing industry in Kansas City, MO!


Salary: $30-$45/hr + excellent benefits!

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Location: Kansas City, MO


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC lathe programs using MasterCam for three, four, and five-axis machines.
  • Program, set up, and operate Mori Seiki live-tooling lathes and Miyano multi-spindle/multi-turret lathes.
  • Provide guidance and support to CNC operators to ensure efficient production and adherence to project timelines.
  • Perform first article inspections and maintain high-quality standards throughout production runs.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to verify part accuracy.
  • Analyze blueprints, job orders, and specifications to determine machining operations, tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Conduct trial runs and modify existing programs to enhance machine efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machinery as needed.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
  • Assist with training new employees on CNC machine operation and programming procedures.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required due to government contracts


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of experience programming, setting up, and operating live-tooling lathes.
  • Proficiency with Mori Seiki Lathes, Miyano Lathes, and Fanuc Controls.
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of metal properties and machining processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Outstanding mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
